Check hardware information on Linux

Below is an example of some commands for viewing information about a computer in Linux.

General information:

sudo apt install lshw
sudo lshw

Outputting information to a file in the current directory:

sudo lshw > pcinfo.txt

View server manufacturer:

cat /sys/class/dmi/id/sys_vendor

Information about PCI devices:

lspci
lspci -vv

Information about USB devices:

lsusb

Processor Information:

cat /proc/cpuinfo

Information about free and used RAM, swap:

cat /proc/meminfo
free

Software RAID Configuration and Status Information:

cat /proc/mdstat

Information about the hard disk:

fdisk -l
fdisk -l /dev/sda6
ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid
tune2fs -l /dev/sda1 | grep UUID
hdparm -I /dev/sda

View information using dmidecode:

dmidecode -t ID
