What to do if “Network Discovery” does not turn on in Windows

Once I noticed on one of the computers that nothing was displayed in the network environment, and after selecting “Enable network discovery” in “Control Panel \ Network and Internet \ Network and Sharing Center \ Advanced Sharing Options”, the choice was still on “Disable network discovery”.

The reason for this is that any of the following services are disabled:
DNS-Client
Function Discovery resource publication
UPnP Device Host
SSDP Discovery

The list of services can be seen in Control Panel \ System and Security \ Administration – Services.
To solve the problem, you need to specify the type of startup for each service on “Automatic” and restart the computer.

When I turned on the services and rebooted my computer, I noticed that “Enable network discovery” was selected and computers and devices were visible in the network environment.
