Firmware upgrade TP-LINK TX-6610

For the test I’ll take TP-LINK TX-6610 Ver: 2.0

First of all we download the firmware from the official site:
https://www.tp-link.com/in/support/download/tx-6610/v2/

If the version of the device is not 2, then you need to select the required firmware, otherwise the firmware may be corrupted.

Let’s manually assign an IP address, for example 192.168.1.2, to the computer and open 192.168.1.1 in the browser, the same login and password are admin.

In the opened interface TP-LINK TX-6610 we choose “Management” – “Firmware Upgrade“, click “Обзор“, specify the firmware file and start the update process by clicking “Upgrade“.

In the process, you can not turn off the power categorically, at the end the device will reboot itself.

  1. hi,
Have you an idea how to access to the ONT by FTP (i noticed that the port 21 is open) but no way to have an access. The fact is that i want to change the MAC Address of the ONT in mac.conf file; and by telnet there is no possibility to do that, because the command vi, don’t work.
    Thanks
