For example, I will configure the POE switch Dahua DH-PFS4218-16ET-190.
When entering the web interface, port statistics were displayed, to start the configuration, I selected the “System Info” tab at the top.
In the menu “System Config” – “Network Configuration” you can specify a static IP address or select DHCP and immediately see the MAC address of the device.
In the menu “System Config” – “Software Update”, you can update the firmware of the switch.
In the “System Config” – “Password Change” menu, the administrator password is changed.
In the menu “Device” – “VLAN” you can create a VLAN and configure for ports, you can also select the type of ports (Access, Trunk, Hybryd).
In the menu “Device” – “SNMP Settings” I configured SNMP, but as it turned out, traffic statistics can not be obtained, since ifOutOctets or ifHCOutOctets for all ports always show 0. It turned out only to read the Unicast packet counters (ifOutUcastPkts and ifInUcastPkts).
In the “PoE” – “PoE Settings” menu, you can enable POE on the required ports and view the statistics of power consumption.
This is where I finished configuring the switch, it has several more functions that were not useful to me in this case. I did not find SSH or Telnet on this switch. The general impression of the switch is not very good, the IP address cannot be specified in the VLAN with a tag, but only on the default VLAN without a tag (solved the problem by submitting the management VLAN without a tag, and all VLANs for cameras with a tag, port type Hybrid). I also noticed that the switch spontaneously reboots, on average once a month, there is a message in the logs about a failure, I did not find new firmware versions on the official website, but there is no desire to debug and write to support of Dahua.
