I transferred cameras from one DVR to a new Dahua DHI-NVR5432-EI and the Imou IPC-K42A cameras stopped connecting via a private protocol and an error was displayed:
Failed to login. Please access the device with ONVIF.
At the same time, Dahua cameras connected successfully.
At first I tried to downgrade the firmware version from 2025 to 2024, but it didn’t help, I didn’t downgrade it any further, since the new versions had fixed vulnerabilities, so I performed an automatic firmware update to the latest one.
And I connected the Imou cameras via the ONVIF protocol, motion detection also started working, but for some reason not on all cameras, I set up recording constantly and by motion, later I discovered that by motion on the problematic cameras it also started recording, probably not always, so with ONVIF it is better to record constantly + motion, and not only by motion. The cameras had firmware V2.800.0000000.7.R and V2.800.0000000.15.R.
The admin user and the ONVIF admin are different users. If you changed the password of the main user, but not ONVIF, then you need to remember the password that was specified during the initial setup of the camera or reset its settings.
In the future, we decided to abandon Imou cameras, since they are designed for home use, and for organizations only Dahua.
