In this article, I will describe the process of how I updated the firmware on the Hikvision DS-7616NI-K2 NVR.
First, open the web interface of the device, by default the static IP address of the device is 192.168.1.64 and the login is admin. When you connect for the first time, you must provide your password and come up with answers to three security questions so that you can recover your password.
I want to note that when I reset the DS-7616NI-K2 settings to default, then it had other static IP addresses: 192.168.1.68 and 192.0.0.64.
Let’s see the current firmware version by opening the menu “System” – “System settings” – the first tab “Basic information”, I got: V3.4.106 build 190702.
Then let’s see on the official website if there are new firmware versions:

At the time of this writing, there was a new version V3.4.112 build200604, after downloading I received an archive with the firmware file NVR_K51_BL_ML_STD_V3.4.112_200604.zip, it must be unpacked.
To start the update process, open the “System” – “Service” menu, where “Update” I pressed the “Select” button and selected the firmware file, I had the file “digicap.dav” and then clicked “Update”.
For some reason, in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, nothing happened when I clicked the Select button, so I used Internet Explorer.
At the end of the update process, the device automatically rebooted. Do not turn off the power while updating the firmware, otherwise the device may be damaged.
