With the WPS function, the WiFi password can be automatically transmitted to the device to avoid having to enter it manually.
There are also devices that do not have an interface, that is, there is no place to enter a WiFi password, but can connect to WiFi, for example, I saw a Mitsubishi air conditioner, in order to connect it to the router via WiFi, the router must support WPS, otherwise there is no way. It’s good that WPS support was added to RouterOS v6.25.
That is, MikroTik has a virtual WPS button, to press it, you need to open the Wireless menu, select the required WiFi interface and press WPS Accept, after which the air conditioner will successfully connect to the router.
There is also a WPS Mode option, which by default is set to “push button”, which means that you can also press the “reset” button to activate WPS (do not hold reset, otherwise you can reset the router settings).
