NETGEAR WNR1000v2 Firmware Update

On the test, I will update the NETGEAR WNR1000v2 router.

1) Open the web interface of the router by typing the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the browser, the default login is “admin”, the password is “password”. At the top right of the window, let’s see what version of the firmware is installed, I displayed: “Router microcode version V1.0.2.12”.

2) Let’s see the new versions on the official website:
https://www.netgear.com/support/product/WNR1000v2.aspx#download
At the time of this writing, I have found and downloaded version 1.1.2.60 (All regions except North America and Russia)

3) In the router’s web interface, open the ADVANCED tab, select “Administration” – “Firmware Upgrade” in the left menu, click “Browse” and select the previously downloaded firmware file, then click “Upload” to start the update process.

During the update process, do not disconnect the power supply from the device, as this may damage it. After updating the firmware, in my case, the settings were not reset to the factory settings, I updated them remotely via WAN.
