In the test, I will update iLO4 on the HP ProLiant DL380p G8 server with iLO version 1.13 (Nov 08 2012), as well as on several other servers, ProLiant DL360p Gen8, ProLiant DL320e Gen8 v2, etc.
To update iLO, there is no need to restart the server.
And so, download the firmware from the official site http://www.hpe.com/support/iLO4, choosing, for example, the Windows Server operating system, as some do not display the firmware tab “Firmware”.
I also saved for you iLO4 version 2.79 in the zip archive here
https://files.ixnfo.com/Firmware/HPE/iLO4/cp049649_ilo4_279.zip
We will unpack the downloaded archive, it should contain the firmware file with the extension *.bin, this is exactly the firmware.
Connect the cable to the iLO port, open the iLO web interface in Internet Explorer or Edge, enter the username and password (they are usually written on a sticker on the front panel of the server), open the “Administration ” tab on the left, select “iLO Firmware “, click “Browse …” and point to the firmware file, click “Upload” and wait for the update process to complete.
After a successful update, iLO will automatically restart, it will not affect the server, it will work continuously.
We’ll refresh the page, you may have to clear your browser’s cache and we can enter the updated iLO.
Is done.

Thank you, also just a tip I learned and not very obvious, you can also update any other firmware from the iLO update page. Like for example BIOS, Power firmware CPLD etc.
