I will give an example of installing ClamAV antivirus for cPanel and running a virus scan.
To install the ClamAV plug-in, open the “WHM” – “Home” – in the “cPanel” block, select “Manage Plugins” and click “Install ClamAV for cPanel”, and you can also delete it.
You can also tick which directories are allowed to scan in the “WHM” – “Home” – “Plugins” – “Configure ClamAV Scanner”: Home, Mail, Public FTP, Public Web.
To start a scan, you need to open cPanel and open the “Virus Scan Tool” in the “Advanced” block.
The configuration files are located in the /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/etc/ directory, the bin files in /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/.
If necessary, you can make links (for example, in order not to specify full scripts to bin files):
ln -s /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/clamscan /usr/local/bin/clamscan
ln -s /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/freshclam /usr/local/bin/freshclam
